Image Upload Standards

All images uploaded to the Society of Art must follow the guidelines outlined below. Before uploading, please ensure your image is permitted and it is relevant to your profile type.

Images that do not comply with these guidelines may be removed. Members who repeatedly upload inappropriate content may have their upload privileges restricted or suspended, either temporarily or permanently.

Please note that image standards vary across platforms. Content that may be acceptable elsewhere may not be suitable for the Society of Art. By uploading images here, you agree to follow our guidelines in full.

Copyright and Professional Responsibility

You must either be the creator of the image or have clear permission to use and display it.

Your portfolio is intended to showcase your professional skills, artistic approach, and experience within the life drawing community. It should not be used as a general image repository. Upload images thoughtfully and with professional intent, ensuring they accurately represent the work you wish to be known for.

Images Must Match Your Profile Type

To maintain clarity and fairness across the platform, uploaded images must be relevant to your registered profile type:

  • Life Model โ€“ You must be the model featured in the image
  • Artist โ€“ You must be the creator of the artwork shown
  • Art Event Organiser โ€“ Images should relate to events you organise or curate

Uploading images unrelated to your role may cause confusion and reduce the effectiveness of search and discovery across the platform.

Image Specifications

All uploaded images must meet the following technical requirements:

  • Maximum file size: 6MB
  • Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG
  • Maximum width: 1080 pixels (larger images will be resized)
  • Minimum size: 600 ร— 600 pixels
  • Colour space: sRGB recommended
  • Links: URLs must not appear in image titles; use image descriptions instead

Images that do not meet these criteria may be rejected.

EXIF and Metadata Awareness

Images often contain embedded metadata (EXIF data), which may include camera details, dates, locations, and copyright information. Once uploaded, this data may be visible to others.

The Society of Art does not remove EXIF data automatically. It is your responsibility to remove any metadata you do not wish to share before uploading. Instructions for doing this vary by device and software.

Logos and Watermarks

Subtle branding or artist tags are acceptable when used tastefully. However:

  • Logos must not dominate or obscure the image
  • Logos used to conceal nudity or content are not permitted
  • Logo-only images are not allowed in Recent Images

Please prioritise the artwork itself over excessive branding.

t automatically make it acceptable. Images lacking artistic merit or deemed inappropriate may still be removed at the Society of Artโ€™s discretion.

AI-Generated Images

Fully AI-generated images created using prompt-based tools (e.g. Midjourney, DALLยทE, Stable Diffusion) are not permitted.

However, AI-assisted elements such as backgrounds or textures may be used when integrated into original artistic work, in the same way as stock resources.

Attempting to misrepresent AI-generated images as original work may result in permanent account suspension.
