User Guidelines
The Blog feature allows members of the Society of Art to share their knowledge, experiences, and creative insights directly on the platform. Using a simple submission form, users can easily create and publish blog posts without any technical expertise.
Members have full control over how their content is shared. Each blog post can be written using either a rich text editor or plain text, and users may upload a featured image to visually enhance their posts. Blog entries appear under the “Blogs” tab on the author’s profile, displaying the featured image, title, excerpt, and number of comments.
Privacy is flexible and fully customisable. Users can choose who can view each post — Public, Group, Friends, or Private — allowing content to be shared as widely or selectively as desired. Authors will also receive notifications whenever someone comments on their blog, helping to encourage engagement and discussion.
This feature is designed to support meaningful conversation, knowledge-sharing, and creative expression within the Society of Art community.

The Friends feature provides a powerful way for members of the Society of Art to build closer connections within the community. Alongside user groups, it introduces an additional layer of privacy and interaction, allowing members to share content more selectively and meaningfully.
Members can send and receive friend requests directly from profile pages and manage their connections through the Friends tab. Friend requests appear as notification cards, where recipients can accept or delete them. Once a request is accepted, the sender receives a notification, keeping both parties informed. Users can also view all sent and received requests, cancel pending requests, or remove connections at any time. Batch selection is supported to make managing larger friend lists simple and efficient.
Being connected as friends enables members to share blog posts and other content specifically with their friends, offering greater control over visibility and engagement. Users can also initiate private conversations with any of their friends directly from the friends list, helping to encourage collaboration and communication.
This feature is designed to support trusted connections, personalised sharing, and a more connected experience across the Society of Art community.
The Messaging feature allows members of the Society of Art to communicate privately with one another in a secure and easy-to-use environment. Each user has a dedicated messaging area within their profile, where conversations with multiple members can be managed efficiently.
Conversations can be started directly by clicking the “Message” button on any member’s profile or by composing a new message and entering @username in the recipient field. An intelligent autofill system helps users quickly find and select the correct recipient. All messages are time-stamped and display the sender’s live status, showing whether they are online or offline.
The messaging interface is designed for clarity and ease of use. The left panel displays a list of all conversations along with the most recent activity, while the right panel shows the messages within the selected conversation. Messages appear in chat-style bubbles with user avatars, creating a familiar and intuitive experience. Members can use plain text and smilies to express themselves and may delete conversations at any time.
New message notifications are delivered in real time, with a badge showing unread message counts in the Messages tab, ensuring users never miss an update.
This integrated messaging system supports meaningful connections, collaboration, and communication across the Society of Art community.
The Photo Portfolio feature allows members of the Society of Art to showcase their work clearly, professionally, and in a way that reflects their role within the life drawing community. Each portfolio should focus on content relevant to the member’s profile type, whether as a life model, artist, or art event organiser. This ensures that anyone viewing a portfolio can immediately understand a member’s experience, style, and expertise without having to sift through unrelated content. Keeping portfolios focused also enhances visibility when members are discovered through searches and recommendations.
For work that falls outside a member’s current profile focus, there are flexible options. Members can create Albums aligned with different creative roles, allowing them to share this work appropriately while still connecting with relevant opportunities. This approach keeps portfolios accurate while enabling members to represent the full range of their creative practice within the Society of Art.
By providing a clear and professional platform for sharing work, the Photo Portfolio system promotes transparency, professionalism, and meaningful connections. Members can present their work with confidence, celebrate their creativity, and be discovered for the skills they most want to highlight.
